  • It can impact other areas such as organisational skills and memorising facts.
  • Dyslexia has many strengths including visual thinking, creativity, problem solving, communication, storytelling, resilience and determination.

  • Notable historical and public figures with dyslexia include: Richard Branson, Andy Warhol, Ludwig van Beethoven. The light bulb, telephone and car and were all invented by individuals with dyslexia.

 Identifying dyslexia is beneficial to supporting learners:

  • It helps parents and schools to respond and support the specific type of difficulty they are experiencing. 
  • Supports with learners confidence. Understanding why their learning might be slower or trickier can support with self-esteem.
